Obama Snubs Haitians

Obama has personally decided to not help Haiti, after the horrible earthquake. He has personally decided to not let large numbers of Haitians come to the United States. Obama has also personally decided that a large US Army Corps of Engineers effort will be stopped, to build safe homes for Haitians in higher areas of Haiti. With the rainy season coming in April, this will guarantee mass death of Haitians who lost their homes in the earthquake.

A good reason to impeach the evil Pres. Obama now, before he kills more, and not just in Haiti.

All About Eye wear

What kind of eye wear to wear? I think about it often. My glasses are not too bad, but I don't really want to go to the eye doctor and get another prescription again. Even if I do get another prescription again, next I have to get a new pair of glasses made. It really does not make me happy. True, I have an insurance plan, but they are only going to pay about half of the bill. Things are pretty expensive in the New York Metropolitan area, even in the Bronx. Thoughts about eyewear do not get me too happy. I was thinking about going online to get my next pair of glasses. It is not that hard to do, because there is a company that will make your glasses if you send them your prescription, and one other piece of information that can be easily provided by your eye doctor. So what do you have to lose. For a ridiculously low price, you can get your next pair of eye wear for a fraction of the normal cost, even with insurance. It's nice to know that such a thing is even possible, and you should try to do it at least once. If you don't like it, at the worst, you have wasted $10 or so. If you do like it, you can get 2 extra pair and really live in style. There are all sorts of nice styles available. Personally, I do not like the old-fashion looking black frame eye wear. I must have the thin silver or gold color metal frames. I know that then they have the nose supports and they can dig into my nose a bit, but I don't care, I have to look right. You know what I mean, it's bad enough to get out of bed, without looking wrong.

Haiti, Six Weeks after the Earthquake

If you want to save Haiti, you have to get Obama out cause he will do nothing about the coming disaster. The U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), a Washington DC based policy group, held a well attended forum event yesterday, entitled, Haiti: Six Weeks Later. The occasion drew high-level participation from officials from the US State Department, US Army SOUTHCOM, members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and numerous policy advisors, journalists, and students. The fact that so many people from official Washington participated, clearly indicates a heightened concern with the condition and political future of Haiti, beyond the US aid deployment of Joint Task Force Haiti. However, while many of the formal remarks made by participants did show the greater competence of some policy makers and researchers within Washington, and, additionally, greater compassion than manifestly exists in President Obama, delimitations were clearly evident. And, so, due to high curiosity for big and powerful ideas, the introduction of Lyndon LaRouche's emergency call, for the immediate US-led relocation and evacuation of 1 million disaster stricken Haitians from Port Au Prince, enhanced the discussion beyond the typical formalism and pragmatism of topical discussions, creating the type of intervention needed to advance just such a proposal. Time to wake up, and impeach Obama.

Haiti Earthquake Reality

In a recent speech by Ruben Diaz Jr, the Bronx NY Borough President, it was expressed that an earthquake in NY would have been just as deadly as in Haiti. This ignores actual history. In October 1989, the U.S. city of San Francisco and its surroundings were slammed by an earthquake measuring a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale. The quake left 63 dead, more than 3,000 wounded, and as many as 12,000 homeless.

Compare this with what happened in Haiti last January 12, when an earthquake of similar magnitude hit that Caribbean island-nation: a quarter of a million dead, the destruction of virtually every building in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, and in a large part of the country, and some 2 million people left without shelter or food.

Clearly, what caused the destruction of Haiti was not the earthquake, but the lack of infrastructure and a solid foundation.

If the United States wants to really help Haiti, this collapse must be reversed. In the meantime, as many as 1 million Haitian refugees need to be housed in the United States.

Tea Party Anti Obama Action

The Larouche people are making the Tea Party scene. Down with the British Financial Empire! Congressional candidate Rachel Brown and LaRouche PAC Western States Spokesman Harley Schlanger were guests on WBLQ radio in Rhode Island, on a program called the "Tea Party Hour." The hosts have been engaged in an ongoing discussion with Boston LaRouche Youth Movement members, and have been studying Lyndon LaRouche's ideas. Brown opened the program by identifying the collapse of the financial system and the British Empire's drive for global fascism as the crucial issues facing the American people, and the impeachment of President Obama as the most essential step, which must occur immediately. She gave an outline of the LaRouche Plan, but mainly kept a focus on the reality of the breakdown of the system.

Schlanger hit the subjective problems with the American people, how we got into this crisis, and the guts needed to get out. The hosts were focused a bit on how "media control" has led to long-term brainwashing. Schlanger told them that that is wearing off, and that now is the time for the American people to take charge, going beyond what they did during the town meetings last Summer. Obama has to go, and we need to put the system through a bankruptcy reorganization, with the help of Russia, China and India, among others. We are many, they are few. (Shelly, Masque of Anarchy)

Save Space Program and Skilled Jobs

To kill NASA's manned Constellation program will kill some very important skilled jobs. Overall, 11,500 people across the country are working on Constellation, including about 8,600 in industry. Many of these would otherwise face job termination, but have transitioned from the Shuttle to the Constellation program, which the Obama Administration has proposed to kill.

Briefed on this initiative, Lyndon LaRouche observed: "So, specific issues now come up as national issues." Indeed, it is going to take our national mobilization, to get out of office the future-killers and law-breakers, like Barack Obama. Time to save the USA and crush the British Empire.

Mailings for your NY Business

Getting stuff printed online is really cool. You make an order and then in a couple of days you get it in your mailbox or on your doorstep. Mailings are very important for a business to keep customers notified about new products and services. Other people used post cards and mailings for many reasons. You could be having a party and this is a cheap and informal way to send out invitations. The good thing is that you can go to an online site and use a template to do the dirty work. Alternatively, if you have programs like InDesign or Quark you can make up your own design, and still have an online serivce do the printing for you. I don't know about you guys, Harlem Dudes, but my printer only prints black and white. So if I need any color printing done, I have to take it to a print shop anyway. Also, for anything like post cards or business cards, the paper you need to use is too thick for the average printers. Therefore, you are generally much better off using some form of postcard mailing services. That way with all the cold and snow recently in New York, you can keep your going out of the house down to a minimum.

Templates for designs can be a great generic solution to printing out postcards, but I have tried to be more innovative about these things lately. I downloaded a trial version of InDesign, so at least I would learn how to use it. This is a very powerful program but it can be very tricky if you are only used to playing around with MS Word and things like that. Overall, I think it is a nice experience to design your own graphics. Templates are good to use too, especially if you are in a rush, but like cooking, home-made items can be so much more interesting.

Obama's Like Bad Medicine

The word online and in the beltway is that Obama is like bad medicine, and not just to Harlem NY and the Bronx NY. Look what happened when he went to Massachusetts to help that lady, Martha Coakely. She get creamed. Criticism of President Obama's obvious lack of leadership ability is reaching a crescendo, and it's coming more from Democratic side of the political establishment than the opposition, and it's signaling an institutional break with Obama.

Most significantly was Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), recorded as saying that Obama is "beginning to be not believable to me." Rockefeller was speaking in reference to the Obama Administration's budget proposal to cut tax incentives for coal mining. In a view posted on Real Clear Politics, Rockefeller said: "He says 'I'm for clean coal,' and then he says it in his speeches, but he doesn't put it in here. And he doesn't say it in the minds of my own people. And he's beginning to be not believable to me."

More of Obama's supporters are also freaking out. Michael Payne, who styles himself a progressive and a supporter of Obama's agenda wrote his view in a column published on OpEdNews.com. He notes that with Obama's election, "America eagerly awaited for that cleansing process [that was his election mandate] to begin and then nothing happened (emphasis in the original), there has been no cleansing process and the dark days that this nation had experienced during the years when Bush's Cheney ruled were not swept away by a creative, visionary agenda that would begin the transformation of America."

Payne concludes by quoting from a speech by Franklin Roosevelt in 1933: "They have no vision and where there is no vision, the people perish." "And as we watch with disbelief and great trepidation the actions of our President and the Democratic Party, that quote seems to fit perfectly." Of course, killing the manned space program is exemplary of the Obama Administration's lack of vision.

Harlem Construction Business

With the recession hitting us endlessly, it is not easy for Harlem dudes to make a living in construction. The construction business in Harlem NY is quite difficult, with many entrepreneurs trying their hand at this trade. If you are in this business you must try everything to promote your business. In the old days, about 3 or 4 years ago, it was very easy to make good money in the construction trade. All you needed was to have some skills and to have a pick-up trucks with necessary materials. These days everything has changed. It is difficult to drum up business with the amount of new projects lower than before. Try anything that may work to drum up construction business. Call up companies that are running construction companies, to see if they need a sub-contractor. Look at trade papers and publications associated with Federal Government projects, and get information from "The Chief" newspaper. Go to lots of networking events and don't forget to pass around plenty of construction business cards. Don't just have generic business cards, but try to create business cards with that special touch, like a really nice design, or perhaps your picture.

I recommend going to organizations like the South Bronx Redevelopment Organization (SOBRO) to get the latest training in how to get city and state construction sub-contract work. If you qualify as a minority or woman-owned business, you can get affirmative action jobs that can be important in at least establishing your business as having experience. You know the old adage, nothing succeeds like success. As you get business, particularly through federal or New York City contract work, it becomes more likely that private companies will use your services, since you are known to be reliable.

Paul Volcker Still Not Happy with Obama

Former Federal Reserve Chairman and ostensible Obama economic advisor, Paul Volcker, still does not seem to be very happy with Obama. He gave an interview today to CNN's Fareed Zakaria, in which he bluntly declared that the greatest crisis facing the United States is a total collapse in governance. In what was the closest thing to an attack on the Obama Administration, Volcker pointed out that, one year into the Obama Presidency, the Senate has yet to confirm an undersecretary of treasury for domestic or international affairs. He told Zakaria that, in all his life, the incapacity for governance in the United States has never been so grave. While there was no mention of Glass-Steagall, Volcker responded to a question about the need for reregulation, by saying that a framework must be established for non-banking institutions to be put through "euthanasia," not rescue. He also argued that the United States must revive its manufacturing base, citing a 20-year trend toward "financial engineering" at the expense of chemical and civil engineering. He again returned to the issue of governance and policy-making, noting that the cost of shipping a ton of steel from China to the United States is equal to the total labor cost of producing the same ton of steel in the United States. So the argument that labor costs are prohibitive to a revival of American basic manufacturing is untrue. He repeated his frequently cited comment, that the only useful financial innovation in the past 30 years has been the ATM machine. I guess that means that Mr. Volcker is not that into derivatives.

Anyone Know about Torrents?

Does anyone out there know about torrents? I read on blogs and hear from people that it is a great way to get all sorts of digital data, music and other material. Then other people caution me that there can be dangers of spyware, etc. I don't know the truth, but I am admit that I am intrigued by torrents. For example, I often need to acquire certain books to review. It can take days and some money to purchase these books online. It would be nice if I could get the books that I need for free using torrents. I tried to do it once, and was not successful. Perhaps I chickened out when I was asked to register for $1, and then I would have to give out my credit card numbers. Is that a cool way to run a torrent machine, Harlem Dudes? Let me know what's going on.

On another occasion I got to see part of a recently produced movie by using a torrent that did not require me to register. I know that lots of people use torrents to get the latest music torrents that they want to hear, of the latest material from their favorite artists.

So what really happened? Was it legitimate to ask me to pay $1 or nothing, but give out my credit card number, or was I wise to not do it? Commerce in the internet age can be quite complicated. So many people are posing as Robin Hood, and ready to give out copyrighted material at reduced prices or usually totally free. But should we be wary, that if we are not paying proper copyright fees to musical artists for example, are we already drifting over into the criminal world, though we tend to deny that this is happening. Everyone likes to get free stuff, but are we being sucked into something that is a bit dangerous and wrong? Each of us has to look at these issues and try to decide what is right.

DYNAMITE! DYNAMITE! It's some sort of spoof on the famous fizzled Guy Fawkes Plot to blow up the House of Parliament in London, England. Harlem dudes, can you dig it? Gunpowder, treason, and the Gunpowder plot. Well, if that’s not inspiration for a rollicking drama, I don’t know what is. In Bill Cain’s new work, King James prompts William Shakespeare to write a play about Catholic conspirators’ attempt to blow up Parliament. Dramatic fireworks ensue.

Obviously, this is a bit of an attack on Shakespeare, who couldn't stand James I and the new regime after the death of Elizabeth I. In fact, that is why Shakespeare' last plays, like the Tempest, are based on imaginary, not historical material.

Looking for a Job, Harlem?

Jobs continue to bleed in the fantasy of a recovery, including in Harlem, the Bronx and New York City, NY. The Labor Department is now reporting the economy lost 5.780 million jobs just during calendar 2009, Barack Obama's first year as President, and the job elimination continued at a rate of 150-200,000/month right up through December 2009.

The loss for January 2010 is preliminarily reported to be 20,000 jobs, but that, too, can be expected to turn out to be closer to 100,000 jobs lost, since the Department's under-reporting of the collapse in employment is now seen to be systemic. The January report shows another very large loss in construction employment (-75,000) which continues to give the lie to claims for Obama's "stimulus" act. And state/local government employment reported a big loss, -41,000 in January as these budgets blow out beyond the "stimulus" Federal aid to states. Federal employment increased by 33,000, not due to Obama or Congress, but to the U.S. Constitution, which requires taking of a decennial Census this year. Thank heavens for little gifts.

Nasa on the Chopping Block

Harlem space cadets, be prepared for a space landing, with Obama killing NASA and the manned space program. This program has already been in trouble. When George W. Bush introduced his Vision for Space Exploration in 2004, to "pay" for it without increasing NASA's budget, the serious work on the replacement vehicle for the Shuttle and its launch rocket was not to be funded until money was "freed up" with the retirement of the Space Shuttle in 2010. So from the very beginning, and by design, there would be at least a couple of years' gap when the thousands of highly skilled workers at the Kennedy Space Center would having nothing to launch. Because the Bush Administration never came up with the money to keep the development of the new vehicles on track, NASA estimated it would be at least 2015 before its new craft could fly, three years later than originally projected.

Lay-offs in the Shuttle program began last year, as all the hardware had been delivered for the remaining five flights. Although there had been thousands of lay-offs projected during the "no flight" interregnum, with up to 7,000 at the launch center in Florida alone, to mitigate the job losses, NASA has been moving design and engineering manpower from the Shuttle program to the new Orion spacecraft and Ares rocket. Now, with the proposed cancellation of the Orion and Ares programs, there will be tens of thousands of lay-offs — manpower that will not be "recaptured" in the future.

Lockheed Martin stated today that the cancellation of the Orion spacecraft will eliminate 400 jobs at its company. However, it will affect 4,000 jobs in total, at more than 500 companies and hundreds of suppliers across the country. The bipartisan Alabama congressional delegation vows to fight the cancellation, as 2,200 jobs are at stake at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, where people have been "killing themselves for four or five years" on the Ares rocket project, according to Center Director Robert Lightfoot. This is a horror show, due to Obama and his British masters.

Satellite TV of Love for Business

I think I'm about to go way up in the sky on the satellite of love. That's the way I think about Commercial DIRECT TV and the scene it creates. Just think that there are so many places that need a TV just to feel right. I know that the local bar in Riverdale, Bronx NY, needs their DIRECT TV Business service all of the time and real bad. They should all buy a drink and drink to that great television reception. How many great football games have been seen on that TV and made the drinking crowds cheer and buy another round? It really makes people happy to see a great sports event like a football or basketball game on TV.

But, it's not just bars that need TVs to entertain their clients. I remember being recently at the doctor's office, and he had a great flat screen TV that was constantly using DIRECT TV for Business, mostly with the patients watching news on CNN. All the banks, hospital waiting rooms and airports that I go to all have TV on all the time as well.
Why get just so-so TV when you can get all the channels that your customers adore. The two big things I think that businesses need overall are news and sports. There are many other things on TV, but if you have your customers watching news and sports they are going to be overall, quite happy.

Probably, a notable exception is in a doctor's office where a lot of children go. They just have to have the best cartoon TV stations, and that is all. Kids like the all cartoon stations.

Medical Proofreading

There is said to be a big financial bubble around medical proofreading. Maybe this is the thing for Bronx and Harlem dudes to move in on. I don't know, but that seems to be where the money is. After all, the Great Obama seems to be targeting that health care money, and everyone else is, so I might as well too. That may sound cynical, but I am only trying to keep "staying alive."
