It sounds incredible but businesses are getting real business grants out there. For example, in the Dallas Texas area, four businesses received a total of over $60,000 in grants recently. They were, $4,500 for Guardian Angels LLC, $25,000 for Jan-Ash LLC, $6,750 for Land of Enchantment Mobile Home Supply and $25,000 for the Candyman Strings & Things to buy a building that they needed. In this case, this involved the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas and Century Bank. If you are a small businessperson in any part of the country you may want to know a lot more about how to get such a business grant. The link is to the National Institute of Small Business Grants website, and there is also a link to their Twitter account, blog, YouTube, and many great articles.
My friends have an excellent website that details how to get such Business Grants and other funding. It's worthwhile just looking at the website to get some ideas. For example, many branches of local government are giving out business grants to get jobs in an area. In Harlem NY, that could be the office of the Borough President of Manhattan, as well as the Mayor of New York. Even Community Boards may have some ability to channel grants from non-profit sources. Major corporations as well are part of this game. For example, you have heard of the Ford Motor Company, which is in relatively good financial standing. From long ago, they have the good old Ford Foundation. Many other large companies are associated with foundations that make grants to local business. It is your business as a businessperson to find out what these foundations are looking for in businesses to receive such grants. If you network with other businesses at social events, ask around about grants. You could be in the right place and right time to learn about an opportunity and get it for your business.
