The China Trade and Harlem

In Harlem NY, just like elsewhere, we are very dependent on the China trade. Yet China faces an intensive danger of total collapse. There has been a lot of stupid gloating from the international conference at Davos about how the United States has been hard hit, but China and Russia are in pretty good shape. This is not a very intelligent point of view. Already, the factories of Shenzen and Canton, near Hong Kong have largely been idled and China is suffering greatly. Both China and Russia will be destroyed and literally broken to pieces unless we in the USA, along with these nations and India create a new monetary system based on production. The same could be send to the macho posturing of Mr. PM Vladimar Putin of Russia.

Intervale Green, New Housing in the Bronx

Intervale Green is some nice new housing in the Bronx. It is rental housing run by WHEDCo, a non-profit org., the Women's Health and Education Corporation. The building will house 400 people in 125 apartments, with all the new "green" and enviromentalist energy conservation tricks. Even affordable housing is getting expensive, because a two bedroom apartment rental is $950 a month, less then $1300, the market rate, and also new and nice, but not super cheap. What's a single mother to do? That's the general situation in Harlem andthe Bronx.

From Harlem to the Ukraine

You might have decided it is too expensive to live in Harlem NY. Have you considered apartments ukraine? It is possible to rent a rather large studio in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine, of over 300 square feet, actually 18 feet by 18 feet, for only US$ 400 a month. Now all you have to do is get someone to pay for your airfair, get a visa, and get a job there, or learn how to tele-commute. That is pretty cheap compared to what apartments are renting for in Harlem and the Bronx NY.

Harlem and Bank Nationalization

How will Harlem NY react to massive USA bank nationalization? That is what the Barak Obama administration is on the brink of. After all, they are putting over $300 billion into only Citibank and Bank of America already. What do the tax payers get for this? Many small business owners in Harlem are much more worried about an indefinite credit crunch. Small newspapers and businesses need to get at least 60-days credit in order to float their accounts receivable. That is potentially more deadly to business than the fall of the real estate bubble.

If the Shoe Fits

Have you seen the dani black shoe line? This is a real cool and smart shoe line. In this cold time of year, a good thing for the Harlem or Bronx NY girl to look at is the Kennedy boot. The Daniblack Kennedy is a soft suede boot. Its laces and tousles give it the feeling of a mocassin, a key trend of this season. Think how fine that will look on you as you march done 125th St to the Magic Johnson theater or the Apollo theater. It comes in black and brown, but the color that I really like is the "whiskey." I also like that these boots are firmly on the ground, they are very good for a working girl that has to walk around a lot in winter. Boots with fringes have a whimsical look and are fun though very solid. Other shoe-boots are available for the more daring girls, who go up on a big heel and try to see what's out there. Up up and away! This stuff can be pretty casual, wearing tights or over jeans. To pay only $124.00 online for the great Kennedy boots, of course in beautiful suede leather is really a steal.

Lacey is in with lots of styles. It's a shoe-boot like the Rocket, with a big heel but still a boot feel. The shoe-boots are open, but if the weather is not too snowy, a Harlem girl can wear them over tights. The Rocket is a shoe boot that has a big heel that can give you a lot of fashion statement and still protect your feet pretty well.

Daniblack is a major brand that is available online and also in many stores in the New York and New Jersey area, including good old Bloomingdale's in midtown Manhattan. Daniblack puts out all sorts of styles including sandals, flats, heels, dressy evening and wedges. And the prices are quite reasonable.

Nice Programs to Learn Job Skills in Bronx

Bronx has some nice programs to learn job skills. One place to go is the West Farms Phipps Training Center. This is a non-profit operation that has computer classes twice a week. This may seem trivial, but many people do not even have basic computer skills. To get a new job you must have at least skills in using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and also know some file management. So it is a good idea to go to West Farm Phipps, located at 1071 E. Tremont Ave., Bronx, near the #2 and #5 trains. They also have a slightly strange back to work program, that includes odd things like a Domestic Violence seminar, or "DiVa." Maybe I'm just out of the loop.

Fun in Breeding in New York City

Many of us in New York City like to breed. We like to do the things that we do, and we like the results. So then it's time to give a Baby ParTees Maternity Shirts to the one you love. A Maternity tee shirt looks really nice for your girl who is getting the next generation ready for their appearance. Maternity shirts are really a necessity. True you can have your girl in Harlem or the Bronx, NY where some big clothes that she has around, but frankly that doesn't look that pretty. These cute maternity shirts come in a variety of colors and have the saying embossed on them either "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl." They are Short Sleeve and have a really cool Scoop Neck. Whether you choose to have the one you love where, or you to wear a Maternity Shirt that says "It's a Boy" or "Girl" really is your choice. Perhaps you are clairvoyant and know which sex it is going to be, or else, you had one of those ultra-sound photos done and you and the doctor just know. This design is described as a clear Swarovski crystal design and it is guaranteed to fee 100% super soft, and made of combed cotton. Best of all it is real maternity clothes with the style to provide a generous fit for baby while still providing a stylish look for the mom-to-be. In other words, it feels good and it looks good.

My friends tell me that this website http://www.weddingParTees.com has lots of nice clothing and souvenirs for people who are having their wedding, so I guess progressing to maternity shirts is a logical projection for two people of the opposite sex that are married and in love.

State Budgets Down says Gov. Paterson

The state budget is way down in the state of New York. And this coming from our Harlem Brother, Gov. David Paterson. Frankly, some of the press releases I have seen are shocking. My friends at the Citizens Advisory Bureau warn me that a good chunk of the Homeless Prevention Progrman, that the C.A.B. oversees in the Bronx is about to go down the drain. That means that people that are threatened with homelessness will have no recourse, but will become homeless. And the real estate and the mess that they leave will be shared by everyone. So Bronx and Harlem New York friends, you better be aware that even the Governor is bearing down on us.

Pepper Spray for Harlem and Bronx people

Harlem and Bronx people do need security. Have you ever thought to buy pepper spray? It works. You take that out of your pocket and spray it on someone and they are going to go screaming in the other direction. Yes, the pepper spray gun does look like a little gun. It is very cute and colorful but it is not a toy. Now the pepper spray gun costs $89.95 and there is free shipping on orders over $75. Refills are $13.95. Now there is something for New York State residents to note. It is illegal to buy these pepper spray guns in New York State. If you want to buy a pepper spray like product you must buy what is called, canine pepper spray or bear pepper spray. Mace muzzle costs only $14.95 and provides a humane way to protect yourself from the attack of a "dog." There is also a product called Guard Alaska, which is a legal form of pepper spray for New York State people, that costs only $39.95 or you can pay another $15 extra for the holster, with free shipping for a combined order of only $50. And it is guaranteed to keep any species of bear away from you.

Lots of Hope for Obama

Yes, we are happy to give lots of hope to and for Obama. That will not solve the problem but may open up the solution. Now that Citibank is being split into two parts, all Harlem boys and girls should know what to do. We need a split between the international and speculative crap, and the real bank and real economy. The speculative crap has to be written off or frozen, maybe they can eventually get 1-cent on the dollar, but not much more than that. The hyperinflation is here Obama, and it is time to NOT commit suicide. Can you get the feeling Harlem and Bronx, New York City?

Get on those Work Boots Harlem Dudes

It's time to get on those Boots Harlem dudes and get to work. My friends at Work Boots USA have all the top brands. Let's face it, the economy is bad, but if you are a union construction worker and you have papers you probably can still get a job at one of the construction sites in Harlem, the Bronx or downtown New York City. Things may even get better if under the new administration, there are large infrastructure projects being built.

Having a good work boot is essential in the construction trade. You want to have a strong steel toe to protect yourself from injury. You can choose from great brands like Converse, Danner,and Wolverine. Some of these boots come with 2 free pairs of socks and the prices are in the range of $75 to $150.

No matter what you do for a living, you may be happy to buy some quality foot protection. Boots with a few pairs of good socks are also excellent protection from the cold rain and snow. The boot look is something that some woman like too, but construction boots have really become a hit for the attractive young man. Women love the rugged look, and the vicarious feeling that you could really kick some butt if you had to or wanted to.

You get free ground shipping on orders of over $50, which you are going to spend anyway on any decent boot. I liked the fact that not all of the boots are super expensive. For $75 you can get the Caterpillar "Second Shift," six-inch work boot. It's an authentic work boot, with the uppers, of course made out of leather. It has a sock lining and a real Goodyear welt construction in its rubber soles.

Affordable Housing is Expensive

I just recently stopped by at a new apartment building in the Bronx that is sponsored by WHEDCo. This building on Intervale by Louis Nine Street is a beautiful building right near the number 6 train, but it is not that cheap. The real estate bubble has hit the affordable housing market as well. The building has green features and great insulated windows. Still, at $943 for a two-bedroom, it can be quite high for a single mother who has to pay $500 for one, or $1000 for two kids. Prices in Harlem are similar or higher. WHEDCo tries to find other subsidies for such people.

Play Games in the Harlem Hood

The game at MagNext is a free game to start with. Then you can buy more complicated games. Playing the game was very exciting. I am really itching for a chance to play again. Once you click on ENTER you are brought in the game. You can quickly create a free account and start playing.

As a registered member you get the extra privileges of customizing your game. Otherwise you can play quickly as a guest. You click the "x" and then you are playing. What is even more remarkable is that other people can come into the "room" and play as guest players or what-not. Get info on challengers and go to the different fun rooms, like the spheron room. Another game that you can transfer to by going through the down holes is the "Speed Challenge."

As I started to learn how to play the game and increase my points, I reached a grand total of 255 points. I decided to see if I could do better. As I gained greater control, I avoided much more of the obstacles. I thought I was reasonably successful in getting 545 points. This seems to be a game that a bunch of kids could play in succession, like in a video arcade. The big advantage is that it is totally free. There are some much more exciting toys and games that you can also buy on this site. This is definitely the place for the Harlem or Bronx boy or girl can go to get away from reality. Isn't that what you want?

New York and Citigroup

We in Harlem often sneer at Citigroup and other giants downtown, but then we need their jobs, their advertisement and their business. Well, get the big news, Citigroup is splitting up. It seems to be going nice, and even offering to change Harlem and Bronx ARM mortgages into fixed-rate mortgages, but Citigroup may not be long for this world. The strange Anglo-Dutch oligarchy is at it again. They wanted to make 125th St a museum to Black people, but not to let many of them live there. Now we are paying the price of going along with the deal.

Reinvent Harlem or Reinvent America?

Why should we be Reinventing America, you may ask? Reinventing Harlem has meant having mega-corporation and real estate companies put down huge operations, and then threaten to go broke and leave. Instead of reinventing America, how about putting the financial system into bankrupt reorganization first, and see if that helps. Then, maybe Barack Obama will be able to listen to old geezer.

Caroline Kennedy versus Real People

Caroline Kennedy met with Gov. Paterson. There seems still to be no reason to let this pseudo-oligarchical fop into the US Senate. At least Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is a real person not a throw away. The only objection to appointing Mr. Cuomo as the US Senator from New York, is that we in Harlem and the Bronx will lose some of the useful work that Mr. Cuomo is doing in investigating the fraud on Wall St.

I really do not share in the awe of the Kennedy family. They have had some good people, but with the Maria Kennedy Shriver and her Hollywood Hubbie, Arnie Schwartznegger, I really do think that the thrill is gone.

A Three Hour Tour- Gaza to Harlem

yalibnan.com pix source.

This is a war it seems my friends;
And will not get a smile;
Of the isolated strip of Gaza;
And the Israel military file;

Instead of an end to misery;
And peace we need,it's sure;
There is a new provision for;
A three hour tour.

(spoof, Gilligan's Island theme)

This Gaza war has to end before it becomes a much bigger war. Harlem boys and girls say that this "three hour tour" or truce in the afternoon stuff is totally absurd.

Harlem, Madoff and Bad Medicine and GMAC

Your ripoff's like Bad Medicine;
Bernie Madoff took you for all the cash;
Shake it up.
Bad Medicine, now take some Valium;
Don't do anything rash.

(spoof song, Bad Medicine, Bon Jovi)

Yes the spoof of the higher spoof hit NY, but now it is at GMAC, the Federal Reserve and the US Treasury as well. It seems that Ezra Merkin, former? Fifth Ave Synagogue President, has also ripped off Yeshiva University of some large figure. This figure in itself is in dispute. It was formerly quoted at $120 million, but this included, apparently, a huge amount of fictitious profit. The amount was later quoted at only $12 million of real, cash losses. This is the Bernard Madoff ponzi ripoff scheme, remember. Now, GMAC is part of the groove, and getting bailed out by the Feds. What about us poor Harlem and Bronx boys? Who gonna bail us out?
