It's a shpeel, it's an act, it's supposed to be and is funny. This is Circque du Soleil and its the old school clowns, like the Marx brothers. Emily is not just a pretty girl with nice legs, but she also has an atitude. I got to see the show from the standpoint of Joseph and Josette Wiggans. It's fun to see how much work goes on backstage, with the actors and actresses all putting on elaborate makeup. The idea is to propel people into a fantasy world of vaudeville, clowning around and the circus.
There was another video where a bunch of Cirque du Soleil Banana Shpeel characters ran around NY. They were in the clubs and in Central Park. Someone dressed up as a doggie was running around a laundry mat. It was funny and weird. A man in a dog costume was on the street walking a dog. Then there is another video of a couple of clowns from the show playing basketball with people they met at a park basketball court. So even for us who have never seen the Banana Shpeel show, it is definitely around and out in the street. The show is touching our lives, whether you like it or not. Of course, on top of all the flashy costumes and clowning around there is also a love story. That can help alot in keeping the show organized and exciting. But the story is as much an excuse for having fun and clowning around all over.
