Violence in the Bronx

What is it? Is it hard economic times? The rising price of gas and diesel fuel? In any case, violence and murder are going through the roof.


At least five men are dead after a weekend of violence throughout the borough. On Saturday night, an 18-year-old was fatally shot in the head near Fulton Avenue and 173rd Street. Also of note is that a 40-year-old man was shot in the head on Ford Street behind the Twin Park West Houses. Another man was killed in the lobby of 1749 Grand Concourse. A man in his 20s was also fatally shot after a fight broke out on 211th Street on Memorial Day. On Billingsley Terrace, police say, there was another shooting victim, who is expected to recover from his wounds.
